April 6 (LNGJ) - The US Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy, one of the main overseers for LNG plant developments and export permits, named Doug Hollett as Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, replacing Julio Friedmann. “We’re fortunate to have someone with Doug’s industry and technical background,” said Christopher Smith, Assistant Secretary for Fossil Energy. Hollett’s portfolio includes oversight of research programs, oil and natural gas systems, international engagements in clean fossil energy and inter-agency work within the US government. Hollett came to the Department of Energy in 2011 with more than 32 years of experience in the energy industry, most recently with Marathon Oil.
