March 11 (LNGJ) - TransCanada Corp., the main builder of feed-gas pipelines from the shale-gas basins of northeast British Columbia to proposed LNG export plants on the Pacific coast, has issued a response to reports regarding a potential acquisition. "While we are in discussions regarding a potential transaction with a third party, no agreement has been reached and there is no assurance that these discussions will continue or that any transaction will be agreed upon," the company said. TransCanada was responding to reports it was in talks to take over Columbia Pipeline Group Inc. of the US, a natural gas pipeline operator with a market value of about $9 billion.
