March 4 (LNGJ) - Dominion Resources, the owner of the US Cove Point LNG import terminal in Maryland, currently being transformed into an export plant, said it had jointly with potential merger partner Questar Corp. filed merger applications with the Public Service Commission of Utah and the Wyoming regarding the pending combination announced in February, 2016. The Dominion-Questar merger would create an integrated energy company operating 15,500 miles of natural gas transmission pipelines and one of the nation's largest natural gas storage systems. Dominion has agreed to pay Questar shareholders $25 per share, about $4.4 billion, and assume Questar's outstanding debt.
