Baltic LNG versus pipeline

March 2 (LNGJ) - Russian natural gas company Gazprom is continuing to provide competion to LNG in Europe. LNG importer Lithuania and the neighbouring Baltic states of Estonia and Latvia, which already receive Russian gas, can now take part in an auction to be organized by Gazprom for the three states. The auction will be conducted by Gazprom Export around March 15. Gas sold at the auction is to be delivered from April to December 2016 to the delivery point at the Kotlovka gas metering station on the Belarus-Lithuania border. “Also, gas volumes in the Incukalns underground gas storage in Latvia will be offered. More than 560 million cubic metres of pipeline gas will be offered at this auction,” Gazprom said.
