Robert McLean of BP says sampling needs higher priority in LNG trading
During the past three years we, BP Cargo Assurance, have been monitoring LNG custody transfers at many terminals worldwide. We have seen over this period, an inconsistency with respect to sampling procedures and cargo calculations.
As there is no single unifying standard which directly and clearly addresses and defines custody transfer calculations, the LNG industry is forced to rely on individual Sale and Purchase Agreements.
