April 20 (LNGJ) - Stena Bulk, the shipping line based in Gothenburg, Sweden, has signed an agreement covering the charter of the 145,700 cubic metres capacity LNG carrier "Stena Blue Sky" for the North West Shelf plant in Australia operated by Woodside Petroleum. The duration of the charter is up to three years with a possible further extension. The tanker will mainly sail between Australia and Japan.  The NWS plant has delivered more than 4,000 LNG cargoes to customers since 1989. "We are pleased with the charter signed with North West Shelf, which we view as a key strategic partner within a market with tremendous growth prospects," said Erik Hanell, Chief Executive of Stena Bulk. "As always, we take the long-term view and are looking forward to developing the potential we see here," Hanell added.
