March 20 (LNGJ) - The number of LNG carriers using the Gate LNG import terminal in Rotterdam rose to 34 last year compared with 23 in 2013. The terminal, whose Dutch shareholders are storage company Vopak and utility Gasunie, has evolved into a European hub in the past year, according to Gasunie in its latest results. The Gate terminal contributes to the "spread of natural gas supply routes" and therefore also the security of supply in Northwest Europe. "This growth mainly concerns small-scale (particularly truck-loading) and reloading activities," Gasunie said.
