Feb 10 (LNGJ) - Chiyoda Corp., the Japanese energy and LNG engineering company, posted net sales of 331 billion yen ($2.8Bln), a rise of 7.9 percent compared with the previous year, though operating income dropped by 18.5 percent to 15.5Bln yen versus 19.04Bln yen in the same period of 2013. "Ongoing project execution continued smoothly, including for LNG plants in Australia and the USA, and in Japan for LNG receiving terminals," Chiyoda said. New contracts for the first nine months of the fiscal year amounted to 649,447 million yen and the backlog was 1.44 trillion yen, a 34.9 percent increase from the end of the previous fiscal year. Net income per share was 31.98 yen compared with 43.80 yen in the nine months the previous year.
