Jan 30 (LNGJ) - Inpex Corp., the Japanese LNG project developer in Australian and offshore Indonesia, said it sold 10 percent of its interest in the Deepwater Block R offshore Malaysia to Australian energy company Santos. The block covers an area of 672 square kilometres and is near where a Floating LNG project is being developed by Petronas of  Malaysia. "Inpex and Santos are jointly engaged in many oil and gas exploration and production activities such as the Bayu-Undan project and several exploration permits adjacent to the Ichthys LNG project in northwest Australia. This agreement with Santos regarding the block is expected to further strengthen the relationship," Inpex said.
