Dec 22 (LNG) - Freeport LNG, the US LNG export project being built on Quintana Island in Texas, has appointed John M. Duty Jr. to the board. Duty, aged 69, retired from LNG engineers Bechtel Corp. in 2009 after 40 years of service, with his last position being as Senior Vice President and Manager of Global LNG. "I am delighted to welcome John to our board," said Freeport Chief Executive and Chairman Michael S. Smith. "As we embark on the construction of our three-Train liquefaction and LNG export facility, John's broad experience with construction of large-scale infrastructure projects, and LNG projects in particular, will be an invaluable asset. We appreciate his willingness to both serve as a director and lead our newly formed Construction Committee."
