Nov 26 (LNGJ) - LNG is the investment driver for Australian resources, accounting for 87 percent of the A$228 billion (US$196Bln) committed investments, according to a report from the country's Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics. "These developments are driving the recent wave of supply expansion with Australia to become the world's largest LNG supplier by 2018," the report said. "The scale of the LNG development in Australia is almost without precedent - seven new LNG projects under construction and coming into production over the next four years," it said. "This has not been without challenges. The scale and scope of the projects and their remoteness have contributed to cost pressures for project proponents and the Australian economy more broadly," it added.
