Sept 30 (LNG) - DNV GL, the largest classification society active in the LNG business from carriers to LNG bunkering, has opened a new office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. "The country is a key driver of offshore investments and is building substantial offshore infrastructure," said Elisabeth Torstad, Chief Executive of the DNV GL oil and gas division. The new office accommodates 250 employees from both Det Norske Veritas and Germanischer Lloyd, the names of the separate Norwegian and German class societies before they merged in 2013.
