Wartsila opens China plant

Sept 2 (LNGJ) - Wartsila, the Finland-based maker of LNG carrier propulsion systems and LNG-fuelled engines, has opened a Chinese factory in Zhuhai City in the southern province of Guangdong. The facility is a joint venture with China's Yuchai Marine Power Co. and covers a total area of 266,700 square metres. It will be used for the assembly and testing of engines including the Wartsila 20, a dual-fuel version of which can run on diesel or natural gas.
