June 6 (LNGJ) - Brazil's monthly imports of LNG amounted to 535,250 tonnes in May, down slightly from 538,000 tonnes in April and from a record monthly total of 692,000 tonnes in March. Brazil imports more LNG on a monthly basis when its hydro-electric power output, which accounts for 78 percent of generating capacity, is affected by lower reservoir levels as happened earlier this year. Brazil imported 4.15 million tonnes of LNG last year at its three Floating Storage and Regasification Unit import facilities at Pecem, Guanabara Bay and Bahia.
