May 21 (LNGJ) - The Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, whose LNG activities are expanding, has opened an office in the Chinese city of Shanghai. Russian-Chinese relations in the field of shipbuilding and the shipping in general have a long history. From 1947 the People's Republic of China and the USSR Register of Shipping had a functional relationship with survey stations in Shanghai and Dalian. China National Petroleum Corp. also recently bought a 20 percent stake in the Yamal LNG project in Arctic Russia and from 2018 there will be LNG cargo deliveries from the plant to China by the Northern Sea Route.
