May 7 (LNGJ) - The Gladstone LNG project led by Australia's Santos has installed the final section of its gas transmission pipeline through a tunnel beneath Gladstone Harbour in Queensland to the LNG plant on Curtis Island. Santos said the 120 pipeline segments, each measuring 36 metres in length, were welded and pushed gradually through the 4.3-kilometre tunnel over the past month using a large hydraulic jack. The tunnel was filled with seawater to buoy the 42-inch diameter pipeline as it was pushed through.
