April 3 (LNGJ) - Tokyo Gas, Japan's third-largest buyer of LNG, plans to start trading cargoes from its office in Houston, Texas, before 2017 to boost flexibility in shipments and reduce import costs, the company's new President Michiaki Hirose said in an interview in Japan. Togas may resell cargoes to other customers in Asia and Europe after it receives deliveries of US LNG amounting to 1.4 million tonnes per annum from the planned Cove Point plant  in Maryland at US benchmark Henry Hub natural gas prices.
