March 11 (LNGJ) - The Saint Petersburg-based Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) said it carried out a new phase of training for surveyors on classification services for LNG carriers. The first phase (2008 to 2010) was carried out by RS in cooperation with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and included practical training on LNG carriers directed by ABS mentors. In 2012 into 2014, due to the growth in design and construction of LNG carriers for Russian projects other seminars on LNG have been held including courses at the RS Training Centre and the STX shipyard in South Korea.
