Very large LNG storage tanks develop as industry seeks economies of scale

The LNG industry is in the process of optimising the entire LNG chain through economies of scale. Liquefaction throughput and ship-size have both increased over recent years.

To facilitate these increases, the storage volume of LNG at both liquefaction and vaporization terminals has also grown. For new developments, increased size of tanks has been preferred over multiple smaller tanks.
