Papua New Guinea LNG is a modest venture compared with more recent projects, but in attracting blue-chip investors it is proving to be world class.
The latest Asia-Pacific project on the verge of moving into the engineering phase counts among its investors a unit of the New York-based investment bank Merrill Lynch & Co., and since July T. Boone Pickens, the most high-profile US investor in the oil and natural gas industry.
