July 12 (LNGJ) - Statoil has temporarily closed Europe's only base-load LNG plant at Hammerfest in Northern Norway after water leaked into gas dryers. The Norwegian company declined to say how soon the LNG plant would be back on stream. The facility has suffered a series of unscheduled shutdowns since it began producing LNG from the Snohvit gas field in the Barents Sea in 2007.
