May 4 (LNGJ) - The cost of Royal Dutch Shell and PetroChina's Arrow LNG joint venture may rise as much as 50 per cent from initial estimates, which could force the companies to delay development. The Arrow LNG coal-seam-gas-to-LNG is already behind the other three projects being developed, Gladstone LNG, Queensland Curtis LNG and Australia Pacific LNG. According to the "Sydney Morning Herald" newspaper, citing a company source, the investment estimate for Arrow LNG has already risen 30-40 per cent because of the rising price of labour, the strong Australian dollar and the cost of meeting tough environmental regulations.
