April 20 (LNGJ) - Wartsila, the Finland-based marine propulsion and power systems maker, was upbeat on the LNG business for the rest of 2012, as it posted higher first-half orders. Bjorn Rosengren, Wartsila Chief Executive, said: "Contracting in the LNG carrier segment is expected to remain robust during the year, with levels in line with activity seen during the first quarter. The interest for gas-fuelled vessels has increased also in segments that have not previously been powered by gas." During the last quarter Wartsila completed the takeover of Hamworthy of the UK, a maker of regas equipment for vessels.
