March 2 (LNGJ) - Canaport LNG, the Canadian import terminal owned by Spain's Reposl and Irving Oil, said it plans to make the facility more efficient and reduce its environmental footprint. Completion of this project will reduce the amount of boil-off gas sent to flare, resulting in the reduction of the terminal's emissions. Canaport LNG's General Manager, Adolfo Azcarraga, said: "Since becoming operational, we've reached many milestones; not only are we the first LNG terminal in Canada, we've also berthed Q-Max vessels, the largest LNG ships in the world, a first of any terminal on the east coast of North America." Two additional pieces of equipment will be installed during the project - a fourth BOG compressor and a new booster gas compressor. Montreal-based engineering company SNC-Lavalin, a member of the original EPC contractor consortium, is managing the project on behalf of Canaport LNG
