Feb 17 (LNGJ) - The Brent crude oil price, a benchmark for the global energy supply situation and an indicator for LNG spot prices in the Asia-Pacific region, jumped to more than $121 per barrel as tensions worsened between Iran and Western governments amid oil and other sanctions imposed because of Iranian nuclear policy. Iran has previously threatened to shut the Strait of Hormuz, which would close off LNG supplies from Qatar as well as Gulf crude.
