Feb 9 (LNGJ) - Royal Dutch Shell has opened a representative office in Papua New Guinea, which is developing two LNG projects, one led by ExxonMobil and another by US-listed PNG refinery owner InterOil. The Anglo-Dutch energy major pulled out of PNG six years ago, but now says it is seeking to invest in PNG energy as a partner of state asset holding company Petromin. In 2006, InterOil acquired Shell's PNG asset porfolio, including various depots, terminals and 28 gasoline retail sites. InterOil is seeking another major investor in its stalled LNG project, though Shell is unlikely to be interested because of the current development plan as it stands, analysts said.
