Jan 27 - Gazprom Chairman Alexei Miller and Sovcomflot Director General Sergei Frank held talks on the importance of the Northern Sea Route for future LNG deliveries to Asia-Pacific markets. "By supplying Russian LNG via the Northern Sea Route we will significantly reduce transportation costs and make this product highly competitive in these target Asian markets," said a statement after the talks. Sovcomflot has held recent trials of the future shipping of LNG by the NSR, with the latest vessel carrying condensate over the route to Asia, and accompanied by ice-breakers.
