Jan 19 - Golar LNG Partners reached agreement with Petrobras of Brazil to make modifications to the "Golar Winter" floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) and to extend the term of the charter by five years to 2024. Petrobras has taken the decision to move the "Golar Winter" FSRU from its present site in Rio de Janeiro to Bahia and as a consequence the vessel will require modifications, including the addition of LNG loading arms. Golar has agreed to make these modifications and Petrobras will increase the charter rate in return for the upgrades to the vessel.
