Japan-Qatar in LNG pledge

Jan 10 - Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Gemba asked Qatar to ensure stable supplies of LNG during a visit to the Qatari capital Doha and both countries promised strong bilateral relations amid tensions in the Gulf over Iranian threats to shut the Strait of Hormuz. Qatar, the world's largest LNG producer, provides around 10 percent of the LNG consumed by Japan, the world's largest buyer.
