Total Chief Executive Christophe de Margerie has reiterated his company's wish to take a larger stake in the Ichthys LNG export project being developed with majority shareholder Inpex of Japan from Australian feed-gas delivered to a liquefaction plant near Darwin. Total currently owns 24 percent of the project and the balance is held by Inpex. However, Japanese LNG buyers signing up to the project may also wish to have stakes larger than single-digits. The Ichthys LNG final investment decision is due in a few weeks.
