Inpex Mirai Upstream has agreed to acquire PetroChina's 10.67% stake in the Browse joint venture, covering the Brecknock, Calliance, and Torosa gas fields, offshore Western Australia. Market observers noted the deal could shift Inpex’s future exports from a China-focused NorthWestShelf pathway to a Japan-focused Ichthys pathway.
