In the first quarter of this year, German state-owned, Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET) fed over 25 TWh of natural gas into the German grid.
This is an increase of two and a half times compared to the previous year's quarterly figure of 10 TWh.
This corresponds to around 10% of Germany’s total natural gas storage capacity.
Managing Director, Dr Peter Röttgen, said, "Thanks to the construction and reliable operation of our terminals, DET can now regularly feed up to 350 GWh of energy into the German gas grid.
“This significantly contributes to security of supply for private households and the economy, which is especially important in these times of geopolitical tension. I am particularly grateful for the excellent cooperation with our partners and customers!” he said.
DET operates terminals at Brunsbüttel, Stade and Wilhelmshaven.
