INOX India (INOXCVA) is to supply 10 by 1,500 cu m LNG storage tanks and a re-gasification system for a power plant project in The Bahamas.
With a total storage capacity of 15,000 cu m LNG, this would be the world’s largest installation of shop-built double-walled vacuum insulated cryogenic tanks, the company claimed.
This largest order yet received for INOX India’s LNG business, would see the production of the largest double-walled vacuum insulated cryogenic tanks ever made by the company
The contract was awarded by Island Power Producers Limited (IPP).
It includes the turnkey design, engineering, and supply of a mini LNG receiving and regasification terminal to The Bahamas.
The terminal will feed natural gas to IPP’s 60 MW combined cycle power plant to provide shore power to cruise ships at the Nassau Cruise Port and is also expected to serve as a model distribution hub for smaller LNG users, supporting power generation and other energy needs across islands.
Once commissioned, the mini LNG terminal will be capable of receiving LNG via smaller ships, as well as the reloading of LNG in ISO containers to service LNG users in the area.
The contract for INOXCVA’s third and the largest mini LNG terminal coincides with the completion of the second terminal at Antigua.
