Canada’s first LNG export terminal, the Shell-led LNG Canada project in Kitimat, BC, is nearing completion: Startup activities are about to begin with a view to bringing the C$40 billion terminal into operation by early to mid-2025. The massive 14 mtpa terminal will initially process up to 2 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d), or 11 percent of Canada’s current gas production – limiting available volumes for export to the US; our Markets Editor Anja Karl investigates.
