Biden’s order to pause non-FTA permits deals further blow to Calcasieu Pass project

Permitting of Venture Global’s contentious 20 mtpa Calcasieu Pass 2 LNG export venture – as well as almost a dozen of other projects – is on hold due to President Joe Biden’s executive order to temporarily pause approvals to export LNG to countries that the US does not have a Free Trade Agreement with (non-FTA). Greater scrutiny is now being placed on how LNG affects climate change, causing an outcry from the industry; our Markets Editor Anja Karl has more.
