Dec 7 (LNGJ) - Woodside Energy, the Western Australian LNG operator, said its project company in the Bass Strait in the southeast Australian state of Victoria signed a domestic gas sales agreement with Qenos, the nation’s only manufacturer of world-class polyethylene and polymers. Gas production from the Bass Strait currently meets about 40 percent of Australian East Coast domestic gas demand.
Woodside said it domestic gas supply deal is with the Qenos manufacturing facilities at Altona in Victoria and at Botany Bay in New South Wales. “This agreement ensures affordable gas supply to an important large-scale industrial consumer at a time of increased volatility and uncertainty in East Coast energy markets,” said Mark Abbotsford, Woodside Executive Vice President for Marketing and Trading.
