Singapore-Japan LNG move

Dec 1 (LNGJ) - Jera Co. Inc., the liquefied natural gas procurement company of Japan's two largest cargo buyers, Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric, has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pavilion Energy group of Singapore investment fund Temasek. The Jera-Pavilion accord is aimed at fostering collaboration in the LNG business. "Under this MOU, Jera and Pavilion Gas will discuss and seek opportunities. This includes possible joint procurement of LNG as well as collaboration relating to the optimization of LNG shipping and storage capacity," a statement said. "LNG demand in Southeast Asia is expected to grow continuously, supported by firm economic development," it added.
