Nov 27 (LNGJ) - Mitsui OSK. Lines, the Japanese shipping company, conducted a drill in cooperation with Japan's Coast Guard based on a scenario whereby an LNG carrier collided with another vessel in Tokyo Bay, leaving the carrier stranded with no steering and serious engine problems. The drill was held with the goal of strengthening the company's emergency response structure, based on the MOL corporate principles of "protecting the environment by maintaining strict, safe operations" and navigation standards. "The company continues to sharpen its group-wide emergency response readiness by sharing know-how accumulated in these emergency drills throughout the MOL group and its fleet," the company said.
