Oct 18 (LNGJ) - Cheniere Energy's Corpus Christi LNG export project in Texas has filed its latest update with the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission showing it is still running slightly ahead of schedule for start-up in 2018. The Texas plant is being built on the shore of Corpus Christi Bay, at the north end of the La Quinta Channel by Bechtel. The FERC report states that engineering has progressed to 90.3 percent, procurement has advanced 34.6 percent while Bechtel's construction has reached 0.8 percent completion. The Phase 1 contract includes building two LNG Trains, two storage tanks, one complete berth and a second partial berth.
