Feb 9 (LNGJ) - Mitsui OSK Lines of Japan has agreed to participate in cargo transport for the Arctic LNG II project being developed by Novatek of Russia and Japanese and Chinese partners as well as France’s TotalEnergies on the Gydan Peninsula in northern Siberia.
MOL has signed a charter contract for a newbuild, ice-breaking LNG carrier with the Arctic LNG II project company. The vessel will be constructed at the Guangzhou Shipyard in China, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corp., and will be delivered in 2024. This contract follows the October 2020 signing of charter contracts for three ice-breaking LNG vessels to serve the same project.
