Sept 2 (LNGJ) - The Illinois-based Gas Technology Institute, in conjunction with the Florida State College at Jacksonville Fire Academy of the South, recently trained more than 150 stakeholders and first responders in liquefied natural gas awareness. The training was developed specifically for the Port of Jacksonville and included firefighters from the Jacksonville Fire Rescue Departments, the US Coast Guard Sector Jacksonville, and area law enforcement. The training was funded by a group of companies planning LNG involvement, including shipping companies Crowley Maritime Corp. and Totem Ocean Trailer Express, as well as WesPac Midstream, Pivotal LNG, Eagle LNG partners and the Florida East Coast Railway.
