Aug 13 (LNG) - Korea Gas Corp., the largest corporate importer of LNG, said the shipments it purchased in the first six months of 2015 were about 17 percent lower than last year and its domestic sales of regasified LNG declined 7.4 percent. Kogas imported 16.54 million tonnes of LNG from January to June compared with 19.96MT in the same period last year. Korea's lower LNG demand was due to the economic slowdown and higher coal and nuclear usage for power generation.
