April 30 (LNGJ) - TC Energy Corp., the North American pipelines company with LNG feed-gas transportation projects in the US and Canada, completed the sale of its interests in three natural gas-fired power plants in the Canadian province of Ontario to a subsidiary of Ontario Power Generation Inc. for net proceeds of around $2.8 billion. The facilities include the 683-megawatt Halton Hills power plant, the 900-megawatt Napanee generating station and TC Energy’s 50 percent interest in the 550-megawatt Portlands Energy Centre.

In LNG projects, TC Energy is developing the 670-kilometre (416-mile) Coastal GasLink pipeline to deliver natural gas across northern British Columbia. The pipeline will supply feed-gas from the Dawson Creek area to a facility near Kitimat, where the Shell-led LNG Canada venture currently under construction will prepare it for export to global markets.
