FERC in April approved a Cheniere request to introduce feed-gas to commission gas turbine generators at Sabine Pass, activities associated with early phases of the commissioning plan. Once operational, Train-5 will take the total output of the Sabine Pass facility to 22.5 mtpa.
The Cheniere plant in Louisiana is the only export facility currently on stream on the US Gulf Coast and has exported cargoes to almost 30 nations since its February 2016 started-up of Train 1. It is currently exporting around 20 cargoes per month from the four Trains in operation, while a sixth Train is planned.
The Louisiana facility has already exported more than 80 cargoes to Mexico during its first two years on stream, while the other main recipients have been South Korea with 73 cargoes, China 54 cargoes and Japan 31 shipments delivered since 2016 to the end of June.
