Production in the Permian Shale, one of the largest unconventional oil and gas plays in the United States, is forecast to rise as capacities at Matterhorn Express ramp up. The nameplate capacity of the interstate pipeline is currently 2.0 bcf/d — some 0.5 billion cubic feet per day (bcf/d) below its design capacity, which can be achieved through additional compression.
