As the Biden administration has restarted to hand out non-FTA permits to stalled liquefaction projects, market observers are confident that North America’s LNG export capacity could double by 2028 – if projects under construction begin operations as planned. One of the first projects to obtain the sought-after permit was New Fortress Energy’s floating liquefaction plant offshore Altamira.
