Meteorologists are forecasting a particularly intense Atlantic hurricane season this year; they expect 20 to 25 named storms which can potentially disrupt crude oil and natural gas production as well as refining operations. Government analysts warn hurricanes could substantially reduce upstream operations in the Gulf of Mexico and damage LNG export facilities.
