Plaquemines LNG nears taking in first gas to start commissioning process

Venture Global, developer of the Plaquemines lique-faction terminal on the Mississippi River, has filed for approval to re-export up to three LNG cargoes as part of the plant’s commissioning process to cool down equipment prior to commercial start-up this summer. With first of the terminal’s three feeder pipelines – Venice Extension – approved for service, analysts expect the terminal to take first gas in June, pushing up domestic US gas demand.
