NextDecade has lined up enough lenders for Phase 1 of its Rio Grande LNG project in Texas, following two large equity and offtake deals with with TotalEnergies and Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP). A syndicate of banks subsequently agreed to fund an “amount sufficient” that – together with equity – is meant to make developers reach financial close on Phase 1 in early July.
