Equinor restarted its Snøhvit LNG terminal on 3 August 2025 following three months of maintenance. Europe's largest LNG export facility, with 4.20 million tonnes annual capacity, enhances European gas security by reducing Russian dependency. Planned electrification by 2030 will eliminate 850,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions yearly whilst maintaining operations until 2050.
